Stores Executive
Origin
About Origin
Origin (previously 10xConstruction) is building general-purpose autonomous robots for US construction to tackle rising costs, safety risks, and labour shortages. Our modular, multi-trade platform combines purpose-built hardware with real-time site intelligence to navigate complex environments and execute tasks with precision. Trained in high-fidelity simulation and already deployed on live sites, our robots deliver 5x faster execution, 250%+ margin expansion, and significant cost savings. Join India's most talent-dense robotics team consisting of individuals from IITs, Stanford, UCLA, etc.
About the role
The Stores Executive will run the stores at Origin's robot assembly plant in Bengaluru, ensuring every build starts with a complete kit and every part in stock is accounted for. The role owns the full material flow inside the plant, from the receipt of components, sub-assemblies, consumables and tooling, through quality inspection, binning and stock control, to kitting, issue to the assembly line and outbound dispatch. It also owns the stores records and processes in the inventory system and ERP. The role reports to the Plant Supervisor and works closely with Procurement, Quality Assurance, Assembly, Logistics and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive inbound consignments against the purchase order, verify quantities and documents, route every receipt through the Quality Assurance team for inspection, and raise the GRN once material is cleared; report shortages, damages or mismatches to Procurement for resolution.
- Segregate rejected and non-conforming material, issue rejection notes, and coordinate vendor returns and replacements with Procurement and Quality Assurance.
- Organize the stores with a defined bin-location system, FIFO practice, ESD-safe storage for electronics, dedicated storage for lithium-ion batteries, and clear separation of inspected, pending, rejected and returned stock.
- Maintain inventory accuracy of 99% or higher through regular cycle counts and periodic physical verification, reconciling every variance.
- Plan stock levels by part category in line with the production plan and supplier lead times, and raise material requirements to Procurement well in advance to prevent line stoppages.
- Prepare complete kits for each assembly stage from released work orders ahead of the production schedule, identifying shortages early and escalating them to Procurement and the Assembly team with clear priority and required-by dates.
- Issue kits, consumables and tooling to the assembly line with documented acknowledgement, receive unused, surplus and defective material back, and keep consumption, scrap and rework records accurate against each work order.
- Pack and document outbound movements, including finished robots and spares for export, parts sent to vendors for rework or calibration, and supplier returns, with complete challans, packing lists, e-way bills and GST documentation.
- Maintain item masters, GRNs, issue records and the stock ledger in the inventory system and ERP, support the rollout of stores workflows, and share a weekly update with the Plant Supervisor on inventory health, kit readiness, upcoming shortages, slow-moving stock and open rejections.
- Coordinate with stores assistants and material handlers on daily receiving and issue, and uphold safety and housekeeping through 5S, material handling equipment checks, battery storage SOPs and PPE compliance, with documented SOPs for every stores process.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Industrial Engineering, Materials Management, Supply Chain or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in stores or warehouse operations at a manufacturing plant, preferably electronics, automotive, EMS or machinery.
- Experience issuing material to a production line against BOMs or work orders.
- Working knowledge of GRN, delivery challan and e-way bill documentation.
- Ability to read a BOM and identify mechanical, electrical and electronic components.
- Hands-on with an ERP or inventory system and comfortable with Google Sheets or Excel.
Preferred Experience
- Stores experience in a plant that builds complex, low-volume assemblies such as robotics, EVs, drones, aerospace, medical devices, defense or capital equipment.
- Exposure to ISO 9001 or similar audits covering material traceability.
- Experience with barcode or QR-based stock tracking and handheld scanners for receiving, picking and counting.
- Familiarity with lean stores practices such as visual stock controls and point-of-use replenishment for the assembly line.
- Experience managing tools and consumables issue through a tool crib or similar system.
