About the Opportunity

Hero MotoCorp is hiring experienced R&D professionals to join the Vehicle Engineering & Design (VED) team at our state-of-the-art Centre of Innovation & Technology (CIT) in Jaipur.

We are seeking passionate engineering talent across five core specializations:

1. Chassis Structures Engineer
2. Chassis Wheels Engineer
3. Chassis Brakes Engineer
4. Chassis Suspension Engineer
5. Vehicle Integration Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Depending on your area of specialization, you will be responsible for:

• Concept & Detailed Design: Visualize and create 3D CAD models and 2D detail drawings in CATIA V5 for 2-wheeler chassis structures, wheels, brakes, suspension systems, or overall vehicle layouts while balancing quality, weight, and cost targets.
• System Integration & Layout: Finalize vehicle geometry hard points, perform static and dynamic gap/flush tolerance stack-ups, and ensure seamless interfacing across adjoining systems.
• Testing & Validation: Define boundary conditions, prepare Design Validation Plans (DVP), evaluate handling and stability, and support physical assembly/pilot production trials from concept through mass production.
• Design Analysis & Optimization: Conduct FEA checks, evaluate DFM/DFA/DFMEA, identify VA/VE opportunities for cost reduction, and manage technical queries with key suppliers.
• Benchmarking & Standards: Perform part- and system-level benchmarking, maintain technical databases, and contribute to internal design manuals.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, or Mechatronics Engineering from a recognized institute.
• Experience: 3 to 10+ years of core R&D design and system integration experience, preferably within the 2-wheeler automotive sector.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Advanced surface modeling, 3D modeling, and 2D drafting in CATIA V5 or equivalent CAD tools.
• Sound understanding of GD&T, DFM, DFA, DFMEA, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for sheet metal, plastic, casting, and forged components.
• Familiarity with vehicle dynamics, vehicle layout specs (caster, trail, wheelbase), and regulatory standards.
