Interview Process: 3 Rounds, including one round aligned with US business hours

Work mode: WFO - 5 Days

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer – On-Premises Automation to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and repeatable infrastructure provisioning and automation solutions across on-premises environments and Azure.

The role will focus strongly on Jenkins and Ansible-based on-premises automation, while also integrating cloud automation, security controls, ServiceNow workflows, infrastructure-as-code, and operational governance.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in enterprise on-premises infrastructure automation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently troubleshoot and lead complex automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of secure and repeatable on-premises infrastructure provisioning pipelines.
  • Design and manage Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
  • Develop reusable Jenkins pipeline templates for VM and physical server provisioning, OS deployment, configuration, certification, and rollback.
  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation frameworks for enterprise infrastructure.
  • Develop PowerShell modules and automation scripts for Windows environments.
  • Integrate automation workflows with ServiceNow for request intake, approvals, orchestration, change management, and CMDB updates.
  • Implement security and compliance controls, including hardened-image validation, vulnerability/security scan gates, secrets management, approvals, and audit evidence.
  • Work with Git-based development practices, code reviews, testing, and version-controlled automation.
  • Support infrastructure-as-code and cloud automation using Terraform and Azure DevOps where required.
  • Implement appropriate logging, monitoring, error handling, and troubleshooting mechanisms across automation pipelines.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for automation and infrastructure failures and drive corrective actions.
  • Support UAT, production deployment, hypercare, and operational handover.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and platform teams to deliver reliable automation solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and contribute to automation standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Automation, or a similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ansible, including playbooks, roles, inventories, and enterprise automation.
  • Strong experience working with on-premises infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Good experience with Git and version control.
  • Working knowledge of Python scripting and automation.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform.
  • Exposure to Azure/Azure DevOps and cloud infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with security scanning, secrets management, compliance controls, and secure automation practices.
  • Understanding of infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support.
  • Experience integrating or working with ServiceNow, CMDB, and change-management workflows is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong to very strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with global/US stakeholders.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong on-premises DevOps/infrastructure automation experience.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in Jenkins + Ansible.
  • Experience automating infrastructure provisioning rather than only application deployments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale environments with security, compliance, and change-management requirements.
  • Ability to take ownership of automation initiatives and work independently.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
