Job Description:
Owns CMDB/CSDM integrity, Discovery, Service Mapping and Event Management architecture for ITOM — the exact area already flagged with unsourced targets and single threaded delivery risk in the ITOM strategy review. This is a named specialist role, not a rotating pool, specifically to close that risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Own CMDB data model governance and CSDM v5 alignment for ITOM
- Define and govern Discovery pattern and credential strategy
- Own Service Mapping design and its ongoing accuracy
- Design AIOps and event correlation architecture
- Own MID Server topology, scaling and troubleshooting escalation
- Document patterns and design decisions clearly enough to support future handover to GCC
- Act as the senior technical point of contact for CMDB data-quality remediation work
- Partner with the ITOM Business Analyst and infrastructure/network teams on discovery scope
- ServiceNow CIS-Discovery and/or CIS-Event Management
- Deep CMDB/CSDM v5 expertise
- Prior ITOM implementation experience at comparable enterprise scale
- Working understanding of network and infrastructure discovery protocols
- Experience defining Discovery credential and security models
- Ability to diagnose and remediate CMDB data-quality issues, not just build new capability
- Strong documentation discipline — this role’s output needs to survive a handover
- Both CIS-Discovery and CIS-Event Management held concurrently
- Direct prior experience remediating CMDB data-quality or single-threaded delivery risk
- AIOps/event correlation tooling exposure beyond native ServiceNow
