- Providing information: Answering inquiries from prospective students and their families about academic programs, admission requirements, application procedures, financial aid, scholarships, campus life, and other relevant topics.
- Advising: Assisting students in selecting appropriate programs based on their academic background, interests, and career goals. Offering guidance on course selection, extracurricular activities, and other aspects of college preparation.
- Application processing: Reviewing and processing applications, including verifying application materials, ensuring all required documents are submitted, and managing application deadlines.
- Outreach and recruitment: Representing the institution at college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment events. Building relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the institution and attract prospective students.
- Interviewing: Conducting interviews with prospective students to assess their suitability for admission, evaluate their goals and interests, and provide personalized guidance.
- Evaluation: Participating in the review and evaluation of applications, including assessing academic credentials, extracurricular involvement, essays, recommendations, and other factors.
- Decision-making: Making admission decisions based on established criteria and institutional policies. Communicating admission decisions to applicants and assisting admitted students with enrollment procedures.
- Support: Providing ongoing support to admitted students throughout the enrollment process, including assisting with financial aid, housing, orientation, and other transition-related activities.
- Data management: Maintaining accurate records of applicant information, communication interactions, and admission-related data. Generating reports and analyzing trends to inform recruitment strategies and enrollment management decisions.
- Professional development: Staying informed about trends and best practices in college admissions, attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions, and actively participating in professional organizations to enhance skills and knowledge.
