Financial crime is a top priority risk here at Barclays.

You will support the Transaction Monitoring QA Leader to provide a QA service of Transaction Monitoring processes, including but not limited to monitoring of customer and client transactions, reporting suspicion to external bodies and defence against money laundering reporting. You will work closely with QA Analysts, overseeing the workflow of the QA sampling and testing processes across all relevant functions. Ensure transparency of quality rates, trends, and root causes of issues, driving improvements to the quality of the overall function through root cause analysis and quality recommendations to improve operational performance. You will perform a critical role in helping us embed an enhanced, risk focused QA model and support in the shaping and delivery of strategic objectives to help achieve a sustainable QA function. The role requires the ability to process information pertaining to financial crime risk management.


What will you be doing
You'll play a key role supporting Barclays in meeting its business, legal, regulatory and stakeholder obligations in respect of Financial Crime (FC) Compliance. You will play an integral part in the development and execution of team plans. Specific duties will include:
. Management of Quality Assurance Analysts.
. Oversee the quality assurance of Financial Crime processes across Transaction Monitoring.
. Manage all active queues in relation to capacity, ensuring transparency of reporting, and escalations where needed to ensure backlogs do not emerge.
. Identify trends, analyse root cause issues and support recommendation of appropriate corrective actions - both short and long term.
. Produce a series of key performance metrics and reporting packs - subject to high levels of regulatory / audit scrutiny.
. Support quality improvements across the broader TM QA/QC functional teams through various mechanisms such as incremental training, policy clarifications, procedure enhancements, technology enhancements.
. Challenge all levels within the function (Analyst to Director) as needed to obtain the right outcome and to drive improvements.
. Exercise judgement / subject matter expertise when there are conflicting opinions as to whether an error exists and/or the severity of that error.
. Engage with 2LOD and business stakeholders to review the QA framework in response to triggers and/or periodically to maintain the best possible risk based framework
. Identifying weaknesses in systems, processes and controls covered by QA
. Building and maintaining effective relationships with business and support functions across the Bank to ensure a positive image of Financial Crime QA
. You will be collaborating with the Operational Rigor team CCO Compliance and front line Financial Crime teams

What we're looking for:
We are looking for people who can help shape, influence and transform the Bank's capabilities, ensuring we continue to disrupt financial crimes, and support and enable the right outcomes for our customers. The following skills are essential for this role:
. Previous experience of working in a Financial Crime environment, ideally in a transaction Monitoring , Governance, Risk Management or Quality oversight specialism with detailed knowledge and experience in practical interrogation and assessment of risk and working knowledge of Financial Crime Customer Life Cycle Standards.
. Experience in the financial services industry
. Good standard in writing and presentation skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines across competing priorities
. A collaborative leader who is able to work effectively both with their own team and with others within QA and more broadly across TC01 (WCOB & GFCO).
. Demonstrate analytical and communication skills as well as work with a diverse range of colleagues across global sites
. Critical thinking and ability to look for solutions outside the box is essential
. Self-motivated, capable of working independently, and to a good standard
. Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and problem-solving skills including experience in producing and reviewing papers / MI and presentations for senior audiences.
. Ability to being risk and control and/or Financial Crime thought leadership
