Job Summary

The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring operational integrity across all company retail stores and
warehouses by monitoring adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs). The role involves conducting compliance audits, verifying ASM audit reports, investigating
operational discrepancies, preparing audit reports, and supporting compliance-related projects and process
improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Store & Warehouse Compliance Audits
Conduct regular audits across retail stores and warehouse locations.
Evaluate compliance with SOPs, operational standards, safety, hygiene, and inventory controls.
Verify stock handling procedures, storage conditions, and documentation accuracy.
Identify operational gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct surprise audits and spot checks when required.
2. Verification of ASM Monthly Audits
Review and approve audit reports submitted by ASMs.
Cross-check inventory records, operational practices, and supporting documentation.
Identify deviations, inconsistencies, and compliance gaps.
Ensure audit accuracy and accountability.
3. Reporting, Escalations & Issue Resolution
Prepare structured audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and observations.
Recommend corrective actions such as retraining, warnings, or penalties where required.
Investigate discrepancies including stock loss, process violations, or staff misconduct.
Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve operational and compliance issues.
Escalate unresolved or repeated non-compliance issues to management.
Track and ensure closure of corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain confidentiality of audit findings and investigation reports.
Ensure policy and SOP updates are communicated and implemented across locations.

4. Project Support & Process Improvement
Support compliance-related and cross-functional operational projects.
Assist in process improvement initiatives and compliance system implementations.
Coordinate with departments to ensure compliance standards are maintained.
Identify process gaps and recommend operational improvements.

Key Tasks

Conduct regular store and warehouse audits.
Verify ASM monthly audit reports and findings.
Ensure adherence to company SOPs and operational standards.
Prepare audit reports and follow-up action plans.
Submit audit reports within defined timelines.
Coordinate with Operations, HR, Retail, and Warehouse teams for compliance closure.
Travel extensively for field audits and compliance verification (15–25 days per month).



Requirements

Expertise & amp; Skills

Strong auditing, analytical, and verification skills.
Excellent report writing and attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Excel, audit tools, and documentation systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
Problem-solving and investigation capabilities.
Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
Knowledge of retail operations and inventory management practices.
Ability to work independently and in field environments.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
1–5 years of experience in operations, audit, compliance, or related fields.
Certification in Internal Audit, Compliance, or Risk Management is an added advantage.
