Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and data engineering teams by translating business requirements into scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in business analysis, data analysis, KPI framework development, data modelling concepts, and stakeholder management. This role involves gathering requirements, defining business rules, supporting data initiatives, and ensuring the successful delivery of reporting and analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements from Digital, OMS, Campaign, Customer, and other business stakeholders.
- Translate business objectives and reporting needs into detailed technical data specifications and conformed data models.
- Conduct discovery workshops, gap analysis, and impact assessments to identify data and process improvements.
- Define, document, and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, and reporting frameworks for Management Information (MI) reporting and dashboard development.
- Map source systems to target data models and ensure data consistency across enterprise platforms.
- Validate data definitions, transformation logic, business rules, and data quality requirements with domain experts and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Modelers, Data Engineers, and BI teams to align business requirements with data design and implementation.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, requirement review sessions, feedback discussions, and hypercare support activities.
- Create, maintain, and govern business glossaries, metadata repositories, and data dictionaries.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing by validating business scenarios, expected outcomes, and reporting accuracy.
- Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for process optimization within data and reporting initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Business Analysis and Data Analysis.
- Solid understanding of Data Modeling concepts, dimensional modeling, and conformed data models.
- Experience defining and implementing KPI Frameworks and reporting metrics.
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, reporting, and analytics ecosystems.
- Experience with requirements documentation, process mapping, and business rule definition.
- Hands-on experience supporting Regression Testing, UAT, and data validation activities.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data quality principles.
Functional Skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong workshop facilitation and requirements elicitation capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with enterprise reporting, BI, and analytics platforms.
- Exposure to customer, campaign, digital, and order management data domains.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and master data management principles.
- Relevant certifications in Business Analysis, Data Analytics, or Agile methodologies are a plus.
