Domain Consultant — Grid Automation & Utility Solutions
Location: Bangalore, India (Delhi NCR / Pune / Chennai also considered)
Full-Time
Experience 5- 8 Years

About Us:
Blue Ripples Technologies is a software engineering company with deep power-systems domain expertise, building integration and intelligence software for utilities, DER hardware makers, and energy-software platforms across the US and Europe — spanning grid protocol integration, DER fleet telemetry, demand-response software, and grid-model interoperability.

The Role:
We're looking for a Domain Consultant with a background in utility or grid-automation systems integration — someone who has sat inside bid teams, presales functions, or techno commercial roles at companies delivering ADMS, SCADA, DERMS, or substation automation projects to utilities. You'll work paired with one of our engineers in customer conversations: you bring the domain credibility and translate what the customer actually needs, your engineering partner handles anything that goes deep on implementation. If your career so far has looked like scoping utility bids, writing technical proposal sections for grid-automation RFPs, or sitting across the table from a utility programme manager explaining why a solution fits their operations — this role is built around exactly that experience, redirected toward a faster-moving, services-and-software company rather than a large-vendor bid cycle.

What You'll Do
• Join customer conversations alongside an engineer, bringing the domain and operational context half of the discussion
• Translate a utility or energy-company's stated problem (grid modernisation, DER integration, demand-response programme delivery, AMI/metering analytics, and similar) into a scoped, credible response
• Support proposal and RFP responses with real domain grounding — regulatory context, utility operational constraints, procurement realities
• Help scope smaller, fast-turnaround engagements (in the days-to-weeks range, not the months-long RFP cycles typical of large vendor bids)
• Build and maintain relationships with utility, DER OEM, and energy-services customer contacts

Requirements

What We're Looking For
Must Have:

• 5–8 years in a presales, bid-management, or solutions-consulting role at a company delivering grid automation, ADMS/SCADA, substation automation, AMI/metering, or similar utility-facing systems
• Direct experience scoping proposals or RFP responses for utility or grid-modernisation projects
• Comfortable in front of a utility or energy-company stakeholder, translating a technical capability into an operational benefit
• Working familiarity with utility operations and at least conversational fluency in relevant standards (SCADA, DNP3, IEC 61850, AMI/metering protocols, or similar) — you don't need to implement these, just speak to them credibly

Nice-to-have:
• Experience with DER, renewables integration, or demand-response programmes specifically
• Exposure to fast-cycle, non-RFP sales motions (in addition to formal bid processes)
• Any exposure to US or EU utility/energy-market context

Benefits

What We Offer

• A role that keeps your domain expertise front and center, without the multi-month formal bid cycles typical of large-vendor RFP work
• Direct collaboration with our engineering team rather than working several layers removed from delivery
• Competitive compensation for the seniority and domain depth this role requires
• A growing company where this role has real influence on how deals are won, not just how they're supported
