Our people are driven by the desire to make the world a better place—to make a positive difference that contributes to a brighter future. We bring together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals who are empowered by an intentional workplace culture, to solve problems better and faster.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Python Automation Engineer to design and own modular, end-to-end benchmarking infrastructure for multiple hardware targets within a Wearables System Health function. The role is focused on removing manual effort from the benchmark lifecycle — test execution, instrumentation control, data collection, and result reporting should all run as scriptable, repeatable pipelines, with manual intervention required only for physical hardware setup changes.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and develop Python-based test orchestration that automates the full benchmark lifecycle: test execution, data collection, and result reporting, end to end.
- Build modular, reusable benchmarking infrastructure so that onboarding a new target requires minimal incremental effort.
- Programmatically control lab instrumentation (power, timing, and performance measurement equipment) and capture results deterministically.
- Produce structured, machine-readable results (JSON or equivalent) that are version able, diff-friendly, and support automated run-to-run and target-to-target comparison.
- Deliver benchmarking data in a consumable format for product teams and architects to support next-generation silicon selection.
- Ensure the automation pipeline is robust, observable, and maintainable, limiting manual steps to hardware setup changes only.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for the framework and its usage.
We wholeheartedly believe in the diversity of thought that comes with fostering a culture rooted in respect, where everyone belongs, is valued, and feels inspired to share their ideas. We know embracing our unique differences makes us better, and that solving the worlds hardest engineering problems requires diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds. We shine the brightest when we tap into the many dimensions that thrive across over 21,000 difference-makers in our workplace.
Work Experience
Required Skills (Technical / Functional)
- Strong proficiency in Python for test orchestration, automation, and data-collection tooling.
- Hands-on experience with embedded devices/targets — flashing firmware, running on-target tests, and retrieving results from hardware.
- Experience controlling lab instrumentation / hardware programmatically (e.g., power analyzers, DAQs, oscilloscopes, serial / JTAG / SWD interfaces).
- Experience designing structured, version able data formats (JSON or equivalent) and tooling for automated comparison.
- Strong bias toward modular, reusable design that scales across multiple targets.
- Background in performance / power benchmarking or hardware characterization.
- Familiarity with CI-style automation for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
- Experience building reporting / dashboards that inform architecture or silicon decisions.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Python automation, embedded test, or hardware characterization tooling.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
