To support the OT team in preparing and maintaining the operation theatre, assisting during surgeries, ensuring proper sterilization, and maintaining patient safety and infection-control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the OT before and after surgical procedures.
- Arrange instruments, equipment, surgical supplies and consumables.
- Assist doctors, nurses and OT technicians during surgeries.
- Assist in shifting and positioning patients safely.
- Clean, disinfect and maintain the OT as per infection-control protocols.
- Assist with sterilization and proper handling of surgical instruments.
- Check availability and basic functioning of OT equipment.
- Maintain adequate stock of OT consumables and report shortages.
- Handle biomedical waste according to hospital guidelines.
- Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the OT In-Charge.
- Maintain OT records and follow hospital policies and safety procedures.
- Support smooth OT turnover between surgeries.
- Maintain professional communication and patient confidentiality.
